Tonight I took Luke to his first Paddlesport lesson at Viking Kayak Club and decided that I would take my canoe and the dogs to see how Joe would cope out on the water. I don't think Chinese Crested dogs are designed for canoeing trips.
Buoyancy aids on, Dylan very excited to be going and Joe looking a bit unsure. I lifted joe in the boat and slide it into the water, got in, Dylan jumped in and of we went.
For 2/3rds of the trip Joe hide under the seat whilst Dylan careered back and forth & side to side as usual, while I gently paddled along. I was coaching Clare who hadn't paddled an open canoe on her own before, so we slowly paddled up stream.
Joe eventually gained enough confidence on the way back to move forward in the boat and woof at the people feeding the ducks - a nervous bark which is so funny!
Here are some more pictures of Joe's first canoeing adventure :-)
